Lyndal Hargrave is an Australian artist working in sculpture, installation and painting. Hargrave’s fascination with patterns of construction from micro to macro and natural to man-made continues in her recent body of work, which investigates sculptural perception, deception and illusion in art.
Immersed in materiality and process, her linear and geometric sculptural forms create drawings in space, and aim to transform everyday objects and materials into architectonic inventions. Hargrave’s works references mathematical systems, and are manipulated to stretch the boundaries of logic, and dance between illusion and reality.

Lyndal Hargrave has exhibited work throughout Australia and Switzerland, including recent solo exhibitions at Brenda May Gallery, Sydney (2011), Anita Traverso Gallery, Melbourne (2011) and Anthea Polson Gallery, Gold Coast (2011). Her work was recently included in group exhibitions at Hervey Bay Regional Gallery, QLD (2012), Galerie Du Chateau, Avenches, Switzerland (2010), as well as the International Lace Award Exhibition at Powerhouse Museum, Sydney (2011) and 'Sculpture 2011' at Brenda May Gallery, Sydney.
Hargrave recently won the Mosman Insitu Sculpture Award at the Mosman Festival for Sculpture and Installation (Sydney) for her work 'Quintet' (2011). She has been a finalist for numerous competitions including the International Lace Award at Sydney Powerhouse Museum (2010), the Moreton Art Awards (2010) and Stan and Maureen Duke Award (2009).
Hargrave's work is included in both private and public collections throughout Australia, including Redland City Council Art Collection, Gold Coast City Gallery and Greenslopes Hospital.
